The 40 Questions are the questions Pastor Man-Kyu Bok heard most often across thirty years of ministry, gathered into eight parts: the Bible's foundations, its reliability, interpretation, application, sin and repentance, forgiveness and holiness, the Holy Spirit, and gifts and growth. Not an academic thesis. A record of thirty years of real conversation.

Asking is not weak faith

Does questioning the Bible feel irreverent to you? Do you fear that honest doubt displeases God?

The people in Scripture asked too. Moses asked (Exodus 3:11). Gideon asked (Judges 6:13). Jeremiah asked (Jeremiah 1:6). God did not rebuke those questions. He answered them.

These are the questions that kept coming back across thirty years. One chapter a day brings you to forty days — the biblical span of training and preparation.

Is this a theology textbook?

No. It is one pastor’s record of thirty years spent laughing, crying, and walking alongside real believers.

Where should I start?

Start with the question that is holding you right now. You do not need to read in order. But Part 1 is the floor under everything else, so you will come back to it.

How are contested questions handled?

Where interpretations differ — tongues and prophecy, for instance — the book does not force one answer. It names the main positions and presents them fairly.
